At Coco Life Foundation, we believe that every Black mother deserves access to adequate support, resources, and care throughout their unique journey. Unfortunately, systemic racism and professional neglect have contributed to alarming disparities in Black Maternal Health. But we are determined to change that narrative.
Through our non-profit we are on a mission to celebrate Black motherhood and influence favorable outcomes in Black Maternal Health. We have created a community-empowered model of care, centered around our remarkable Mombassadors.
Our Mombassadors are the heart and soul of our organization. They are passionate individuals who provide support, guidance, and inspiration to Black mothers in three key maternal stages: pregnancy, postpartum, and compassion (during the loss of a child or significant loved one). These Mombassadors cultivate a sense of community, involving not just mothers, but also fathers, children, cousins, grandparents, and dadvocates.
Through our platform at Coco Life Foundation, we go beyond traditional support systems. We provide a space for Black mothers and their communities to connect, learn, heal, and thrive together. We offer a range of resources, including gifts, edutainment programming, events, and simplified access to essential professionals such as birth workers, mental health professionals, and business strategists. By addressing Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), we are working to reduce the race-related disparities that have plagued Black Maternal Health for far too long.
